Condolence: My first memories of Marvin are when I was a very little girl... no older than 4. I remember he would give me a kiss on my cheek and I’d wipe it off to which he would reply, “Did you wipe off my sugar? Don’t you wipe off my sugar!” I’d laugh and laugh. It’s a “game” I play with my own kids now and it all started with Marvin.
I remember how huge I thought Marvin was... he was like a giant to me- someone that could certainly intimidate a little girl yet I never felt that way because his heart was even bigger. He always made me feel loved. Another fun memory I have is when Marvin and Diane came to my 18th birthday party. There was lots of dancing and it was quite the party! Marvin asked me to dance and I’ll never forget the two of us dancing and talking. I can’t remember what we talked about but I distinctly remember having the thought “He loves me” while we danced and chatted. There was something about him that made always me feel loved and cared about. My thoughts and prayers are with all of his loved ones.

Condolence: Have great memories of being around Marvin. Admire his example, his faith, his dedication. Even at an early age, I can fondly recall times when he would deadpan something and do so with a straight face. Only seconds later he'd light up the room with his giant smile and laugh. I am thankful for the association we have been so fortunate to have had with the entire Starnes family. Love and prayers to the family.
