Ada Flippin

Ada F. Flippin, 96, of South Chesterfield, VA passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Chippenham Medical Center. Born in Warren County, NC she was the daughter of the late Sol Benjamin and Myrtle Stallings Fleming; and was also preceded in death by her loving husband, William Thomas "Billy" Flippin and a daughter, Nancy Hastings. Mrs. Flippin was a member of Ivey United Methodist Church for 75 years and had served as the Sunday School Treasurer for 40 years. She had worked for many years as a tax consultant. Mrs. Flippin is survived by a son, Donald Thomas Flippin and fiancé, Nanette Eubank of Powhatan, VA; daughter, Wanda F. Stepp and husband, Dennis of Stuarts Draft, VA; seven grandchildren, Melissa Bush, Greg Bush and wife, Jessica, Travis Flippin and wife, Ann, Matthew Flippin and wife, Anna, Cody Stepp and wife, Emily, Jon Stepp and wife, Jessica and Laura S. Tyson and husband, Mark; three great-grandchildren; five sisters, Alma Walker, Eva Woodfin, Mildred Morrison, Irma Gard and Ann Spence; four brothers, Charles, Ralph, J.T. and Bill Fleming; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Ivey United Methodist Church, 17120 Jefferson Davis Hwy, S. Chesterfield, VA 23834 with the Rev. Jim Smith and the Rev. Dan Ivey, officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, VA. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA 23834.
