Albert Velasco

Albert Francis Velasco, 57, of Dinwiddie died Saturday, May 10, 2008 at Georgetown University Hospital, Washington, D.C. He was the son of the late Alberto and Bernie Bender Velasco. Mr. Velasco was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Petersburg and the Military Order of the Purple Heart. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth I. Velasco; daughter, Arabela M. Velasco; sisters, Joy Leonardo, Gina Troxel, Roberta Ago, May Turla, and Faith Velasco; brother, Louie Velasco; many nieces and nephews; best friend, Mike Garnett. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2008 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 151 West Washington Street, Petersburg with Father Steve Antes celebrant. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia. A Christian wake service will take place at 7:00 p.m. with visitation to follow until 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Petersburg Chapel of the E.
