Alfred Lee Williams Jr., 67, of Dinwiddie, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was the son of the late Alfred Lee Williams Sr. and Amy Mills Williams. Alfred was known by many of his friends and family members as "Froggy." His nickname was picked up by him as a young boy and stuck with him all of his life. His passion in life, besides his family, was the love of music. He played the guitar everyday, and he and his wife sang in many gospel groups over the years. He was a good man, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend . . . Alfred "Froggy" Williams will be missed by many. He is survived by his wife, Lois Lamm Williams; his children, Melvin Lynn Williams and wife, Wendy of Ford, Ronnie Lee Williams Sr. and wife, Gennie of Dinwiddie, Kelly Rena Gauldin and husband, Clyde of Ford, and Ricky Allen Williams Sr. and wife, Mary of Dinwiddie; twelve grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Molly Moody, Donna Williams, and Betty Leary all of Dinwiddie; numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2010 in Pine Grove Baptist Church, 22218 Dabney Mill Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23803 with Pastor Rodney Jenkins officiating. Entombment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the church.
