Alice Garrison

Alice Lane Garrison, 83, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at her residence. A native of Petersburg, she was the daughter of the late Herbert W. and Sarah Grammer Lane. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dolphus (Tom) Garrison, a son, Jim Garrison, and a grandson, Billy Garrison. Mrs. Garrison was a member of the Crowder Memorial Baptist Church, Petersburg. She is survived by three sons, Tom Garrison and wife, Donna of Chesterfield, Robert Garrison and wife, Kathy of Colonial Heights and Steve Garrison and wife, Tara of Colonial Heights; eight grandchildren, Danny Garrison, Susan Grandstaff, Jennifer Schrum, April Young, Justin Garrison, Beth Auten, Chris Garrison, and Michelle Garrison; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; two brothers, Roy Lane and Lloyd Lane both of Colonial Heights; and a sister, Florence Newcomb of Colonial Heights. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 16, 2013 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Joe Elmore officiating. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
