Alice Hughes

Alice Vasko Hughes, 91, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2015 at the Dunlop House in Colonial Heights. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose Smolik Vasko. Mrs. Hughes is survived by three daughters, Bonnie Hopson and husband, Billy of Chesterfield, Patricia Butterworth and husband, Bruce of Kitty Hawk and Cary, North Carolina, and Lisa McDonald of Mechanicsville; grandchildren, Becky Fogleman, Kathy Hopson, Jonathan Butterworth, Ashley Bradford, Morgan McDonald, Clay McDonald; great-granddaughter, Kaylee Fogleman; sister, Helen Uhlman of Hartsdale, New York; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral Service will be held on Saturday January 2, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, with the Reverend Patrick Pillow officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. A private burial will take place on Monday, January 4, 2016. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4240 Park Place Court Glenn Allen.
