Alice Wells

Alice K. Wells (Granny Alice), 85, of S. Chesterfield, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at Southside Regional Medical Center. Born in Disputanta, she was the daughter of the late William M. and Bessie Harris Kofron, and was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin E. Wells Sr. and a brother, William Kofron. Mrs. Wells was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church, the Ettrick Friendship Club, and a retired Toll Collector with the Richmond/Petersburg Turnpike Authority. She is survived by her sons, Benjamin E. Wells Jr. (Kathy) of Colonial Heights and Barry W. Wells (Stephanie) of Florida; a daughter, Gayle W. Sylvester (Jimmy) of Matoaca; 7 grandchildren, Jason, Eric Ray, Kenny, Stacey, Emma, Tiffany (David), and Victoria (Tori); two great-grandsons, Kenny Jr. and Gunnar; brothers, Wallace E. Kofron (Nancy) and William J. Kofron (Linda) both of Matoaca; sisters, Barbara Emory of Colonial Heights and Jean Weathers of Matoaca. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 23, 2013 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Scott Price and the Reverend Richard Gordon officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mount Calvary Baptist Church, 19600 Halloway Avenue, S.
