Alielee "Nanny" Hodnett, 89, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at MCV Medical Center. Born in Brookneal, Virginia she was the daughter of the late Roy C. and Ossie Johnson Daniel. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Major William Hodnett, a son, Keith Hodnett, and a brother, Roy C. Daniel Jr. Mrs. Hodnett was a member of Elm Street Baptist Church, Petersburg. Nanny lived a long, full life and her joy was doing for her family. She will be truely missed. She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Eanes and husband, Billy of Williamsburg and Sherry A. Wilkinson of Colonial Heights; a daughter-in-law, Laurie Hodnett of Augusta, Georgia; grandchildren, Eric Eanes and wife, Jen of Atlanta, Georgia, Dusty Anderson and wife, Angie of Chesterfield, Christy Morel and husband, Edward of Chesterfield, Devin Hodnett and wife, Lindsey of Augusta, Christopher Hodnett of Augusta, Lisa McGillberry and husband, Joey of Birmingham, Alabama and Susan McCurry and husband, Daniel of Birmingham; eleven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lurleen Wade of Brookneal, Jean Moma of Anchorage, Alaska and Sandra Cash of Greensboro, North Carolina; numerous nieces and nephews. A Graveside Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23805 with the Reverend Jason Elmore officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, August 22, 2014 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
