Allen Robert Stoll, SFC U.S. Army Retired, 79, of Petersburg, Virginia, formerly of Cincinnati, Ohio, died on January 27, 2024. He was preceded in death by wife, JoAnne Ruth Humphrie Stoll; his parents, George and Betty Stoll; and brother, Ken Stoll.
He is survived by sister, June Phelps (George) of Cincinnati; brothers, George Stoll (Susan) of Wilder, Kentucky, and Jim Stoll (Lori) of Tempe, Arizona; and sister-in-law, Johnette Stoll of Cincinnati. Al was also blessed with 16 beautiful nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Al grew up in South Fairmount in Cincinnati and attended St. Bonaventure Elementary School. He was a 1962 graduate of Roger Bacon High School and then joined the U.S. Army where he did tours in Vietnam, Korea, and Germany, before being stationed in the states and then settling in Ft. Lee, Virginia for the remainder of his 20+ year career. He spent the rest of his life in Petersburg, Virginia, where he leaves many friends and his good neighbors on Brierwood. Al enjoyed fishing, sports, reading especially regarding historical and current events, and listening to anything Motown. Al was a volunteer for more than 35 years at Southside Regional Medical Center.
Arrangements are being handled at the Colonial Heights chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights. Committal services will be private.
