Alton Parker Davis

April 13, 1943 — September 19, 2023

Alton "Mickey" Parker Davis, Jr., 80, of Kinston, North Carolina passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2023. Born April 13, 1943, he was the son of the late Malissa Mae Burkett and Alton Parker Davis, Sr., and was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Brenda Kaye Gardner Davis.

Mickey was a true lover of the ocean, finding peace and joy in the art of ocean fishing. The tranquil sound of the waves and the thrill of reeling in a big catch were among his greatest pleasures.

Mickey had a rhythm to his life, not just in fishing, but also on the dance floor. His love for shag music and dancing brought him countless hours of enjoyment.

But perhaps what we'll remember most about Mickey was his compelling sense of humor. He was a true jokester, always ready with a witty remark or a clever quip. His ability to make others laugh was a gift he generously shared with friends and family. His laughter was a melody that will forever echo in our hearts.

Mickey Davis, Jr. will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He leaves behind a treasure trove of memories that remind us to find joy in the simple pleasures of life and to always keep laughter close at hand.

He is survived by his son, Kirk Parker Davis and wife, Angela; daughter, Kim Mitchell and husband, Jimmy; two grandchildren, Parker and Claire Mitchell; siblings, Harold Davis, Deborah Dunn and husband, Pat, Durwood Davis, Charlie Davis and wife, Debbie; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

Inurnment for Mickey and his beloved wife, Brenda, will take place in the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery at a later date. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Online condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
