Alva Burchell

Alva J. "Jeannie" Burchell, 67, of Prince George, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at the Colonial Heights Health Care Center. Born in Henrico County, she was the daughter of the late David E. and Alva Browning Daniel. Mrs. Burchell was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. She is survived by her former husband, James D. Burchell; sons, James D. Burchell Jr. and wife, Angie of Prince George and Foriest E. Burchell of Prince George; daughters, Mary Elizabeth Wagner and husband, Jay of Mechanicsville and Cynthia J. Coker of Chester; four granddaughters, Page Coker, Jami Burchell, Hayli Wagner and Jewel Wagner; and sisters, Stephanie R. Ewy of Griffin, North Carolina and Mary Frances Minton of Kinston, North Carolina; step-mother, Connie Colie. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, January 27, 2014 at Pine Grove Baptist Church, 22218 Dabney Mill Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23803 with the Reverend Rodney Jenkins officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
