Alvin Elvert Doyle Sr., 86, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2021. Born in New York, on March 10, 1935, he was the son of the late Clifford G. and Eulene Rudder Doyle. He was preceded in death by siblings, Kenneth Doyle, Dolores Lynch, Marvin Doyle, Edmond Doyle, Leonard Doyle and Ernie Doyle.
He was a longtime member of Mount Olivet Baptist Church, Petersburg. He was a gifted general contractor and could fix or build just about anything; work was his hobby.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 41 years, Carolyn Doyle; children, Alvin E. Doyle Jr., Juliana Doyle, and Lisa Phelps; six grandchildren, Monique Doyle, Jared Phelps, Justin Chambers, Mia Chambers, Ricardo Chambers, and James Googe; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Bernard Doyle and wife, Florence; numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family members and many friends.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 26, 2021, in Sunset Memorial Park, 2901 W. Hundred Road, Chester, Virginia 23831. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 25, 2021, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E.
