Alvin Hamlet

Alvin M. "Ham" Hamlet, 72, of Prince George, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2014 at his residence. Born in Petersburg, he was the son of the late Alvin M. and Nellie Morriss Hamlet. He was a member of Second Baptist Church, the Fort Lee Golf Club, and the Colonial Heights American Legion Post #284. Mr. Hamlet was a National Guard veteran, and retired from Honeywell as a Lab Technician with 39 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Anne Hamlet; daughter, Cheryl Hamlet; a sister, Evelyn Wiley; a niece, Mary McCormick and a nephew, John Lowder and fiancée, Stacy Davis. A Memorial Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, December 1, 2014 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend David Prather officiating. The family will receive friends following the service from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday.
