Andrew "Andy" Ray Eller, Sr.

Andrew “Andy” Ray Eller, Sr., 59, of Chester, Virginia, went to be with Jesus on Friday, January 17, 2025, and is now “catching fish with his hands”. He was born in Lawrenceville, Georgia on November 7, 1965.

Andy was a master carpenter whose skilled hands crafted countless projects throughout his lifetime, a trade he began as a teenager and perfected over the years. Outside of work, he found joy in tending to and clearing his land, creating a place where he could enjoy time with his beloved family. He treasured every moment spent with his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy. Andy also had a passion for fishing and golf. He had an extreme love for animals, especially Bassett hounds, donkeys, and beavers. An avid sports fan, he cheered for the Atlanta Braves and the Washington Redskins, but his heart ultimately belonged to the Washington Capitals, faithfully supporting his favorite hockey team every game.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bobbie Ray Eller; nephew, Joey Boyd; and lifelong friends, Trey Shook, Dave Whelan, T.W., Jay Harvey, Steve Walters, and Danny Coates.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Susanne Bond; son, Andrew Ray Eller, Jr. and wife, Haleigh; daughter, Raychel Davis and husband, Landon; grandchildren, Alivia Ray Davis and Andrew Ray Eller, III.; a grandson and granddaughter on the way; mother, Virginia Eller; brothers, Blake and John Eller; sister, Suzanne Eller; and many other extended family members.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia, 23834. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
