Anna Scott Newcomb

Anna Scott Newcomb, 97, left this earth for her Heavenly home on Friday, November 1, 2024. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Newcomb, and her parents, Anna and CW Scott of Northampton County, NC. 

Anna was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was an active, faithful servant for many years until she became homebound. She always baked and visited the shut-members of the church in the nursing homes. Prior to attending Calvary Baptist, Anna was a member of Grace Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She served as a daycare teacher at Grace Baptist Church. She loved children. 

She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Newcomb Butler, son-in-law, Charles Randall Butler, grandson, Brandon Scott Newcomb Butler, devoted sister, Pauline Scott Ogburn and “tall daughter” Debbie Ogburn Smith. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834, with a funeral procession leaving the funeral home at 12:30 p.m. A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday in Blandford Cemetery, 319 S.
