Anne Burgess

Anne Galloway Burgess 89, of Prince George, passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2011. She was the daughter of the late Bryant and Minerva Roberts Galloway. Mrs. Burgess was the widow of Garland H. Burgess, and was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters. She was a member of Highland United Methodist Church in Colonial Heights; she was also active at St. Marks United Methodist Church in Petersburg. Mrs. Burgess was a member of the Eastern Star, the Friday Bridge Club, and the Chairman of the Bitter Sweet Twigs Club at Southside Regional Medical Center, and the Wives of Submarine Veterans Club. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia C. Hale and husband, Earl of Prince George; grandson, Kevin Alexander Foster of Midlothian; numerous nieces and nephews and her extended family. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 31, 2011 in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George with the Reverend Keith Ritchie officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 30, 2011 from 3-4:30 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
