Anne Bishop Henderson, 69, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Floyd Bishop Sr. and Mildred Yancey Bishop, and was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Lee Henderson Swain. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She taught Kindergarten and Sunday school at both Immanuel and Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Anne is survived by her husband, Trent Henderson; his children, Donna Faye Joey and husband, Joe of North Carolina, Darrell Henderson of Richmond; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren; one special child Darren Henderson who they assisted in raising and called their son, two special grandchildren, Kaleb and Charlotte Henderson; two sisters, Peggy Bishop of Colonial Heights, Patricia Templemire and husband, Leonard of Missouri; two brothers, John Bishop and wife, Becky of Chester, Floyd "Buddy" Bishop of Indiana; numerous nieces and nephews; two special devoted friends Lou Putney and Beryl McCubbin of Colonial Heights. While Anne and Trent didn't have any biological children of their own, they had a lifetime of love for children, their neighbors, and friends. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2012 in Immanuel Baptist Church, 620 Lafayette Avenue, Colonial Heights with the Reverend Robert Livesay officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends on Monday April 9, 2012 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard
