Anne Gallison Poarch 85, of Colonial Heights, died Sunday April 12, 2009 at John Randolph Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Margaret Miller Brister. Mrs. Poarch retired in 1987 after teaching sixth grade in Prince George County for twenty years. She is survived by her husband of twenty-two years, John C. Poarch; her daughter, Jean T. Fleming; her step-daughters, Verna P. Myers and Dana P. Neidley; her brother Alan Brister; her sisters Margaret Kizlin and Jane Brister; her sons-in-law Andrew Fleming and Edward Myers; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A memorial service will be held 4:00 p.m. Saturday April 25, 2009 at St Marks United Methodist Church 225 Claremont Street Petersburg, Virginia, 23805; with the Reverend Robert L. Hauck officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends following the service at church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Anne's honor to Best Friends Animal Society.
