Anne Russell

Anne Jennings Russell, 80, passed away on March 18, 2012 following a long illness. Anne was born November 2, 1931 in Leesburg, Virginia. She graduated from Mars Hill College and Radford University, taught elementary school for 27 years and was very active in church work her entire life. Anne was a former resident of Gloucester, Roanoke, Mathews and Chesterfield, Virginia. The family would like to thank the staff at Beaufont Towers for the wonderful care they provided during her illness. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Rev. M. Kenneth Russell and children, Dedra Barker (Lee), Debra Adams (Dave), and Kenneth H. Russell (Sandy). She is also survived by seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 23, 2012 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Chester, Virginia. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2012 at the funeral home.
