Annie Louise Spain, 85, of Colonial Heights died Friday June 6, 2008 at John Randolph Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Linwood H. and Annie Laura Rowlett Archer, and was preceded in death by her husband, Richard W. Spain, and a son, James S. Spain. Mrs. Spain was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Petersburg. She is survived by her children, Carol Spain, Laura Lee Spain Hawkins and friend, Marjorie Jacobs, Richard W. Spain; a brother, James Madison Archer; sister, Lois Mae Williams; granddaughters, Harriet Stephanie Gurwitz, Gina Benitta Gurwitz, Ava Helen Gurwitz Williams, April Lynn Gurwitz Franklin; two grandsons, Patrick Hawkins, Matthew H. Hawkins; 14 great grandchildren; and a lifelong friend, Louise Kitchen. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 from 10-11:00am with a funeral service taking place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday First Assembly of God 25213 Ferndale Road Petersburg, Virginia with the Pastor Dwayne Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Blandford Cemetery Petersburg, Virginia.
