Anthony Russo

Anthony Russo, 90, of Petersburg, passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Hickory Hill Retirement Community, Burkeville. Born in West New York, New Jersey he was the son of the late Luigi and Luisa Russo. He was preceded in death by brothers, Andrew, Frank and Patrick Russo and a sister, Rose DiSalvo. Mr. Russo was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, and a United States Army veteran having served during World War II. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Ruth Davis Russo; daughter, Amy Dirr and husband, William; a granddaughter, Lindsey Dirr; a grandson, Matthew Dirr all of Chester; numerous nieces and nephews in New Jersey. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 18, 2013 in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 3110 Greenwood Avenue, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 with the Reverend Dr. Andrew Brockelman officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11:00 a.m. Monday prior to the service at church.
