Ardeth Tipton

Ardeth Joy "Ardy" Tipton, 78, of Colonial Heights, passed away Saturday, August 25, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Harold C. and Metta M. Closs Mapson, and the widow of Lawrence Edward Tipton Jr. Mrs. Tipton was a former member of Colonial Heights Assembly of God Church. She is survived by her children, Kevin Tipton of Chesterfield, Darla Tipton of Chesterfield, Lawrence Tipton III. and wife, JoAnne of Colonial Heights; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Bradford Mapson, Dextor Mapson, and Denman Mapson; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 28, 2012 in Blandford Cemetery Petersburg, Virginia. Funeral arrangements by the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard.
