Art Nix

Art G. Nix, 82, of Dinwiddie, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Southside Regional Medical Center. Born in Pickens, South Carolina, he was the son of the late John E. and Esther Crenshaw Nix, and was preceded in death by 8 brothers and sisters. Mr. Nix was a member of Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church, South Carolina, and a veteran in the Army National Guard. He is survived by his wife, Sallie D. Nix; children, Samuel G. Nix and wife, Yong of Chester, Debbie A. Nix of Chesapeake City, Maryland, Eddie Nix and wife, Robin of Chester, and Art B. Nix of Sunset, South Carolina; step-children, Richard Dittman and wife, Melodie of Dinwiddie and Troy Dittman and wife, Aubrey of Ford; eight grandchildren, Terickah, Gary, Chris, Alexandria, Westley, Jordan, Haley and Jacob; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Coralee Lark of Pickens; a brother, Alton Nix of Athens, Georgia; numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
