Arthur Barnes Jr.

Arthur John Barnes, Jr., 71, passed away on Thursday, June, 19, 2014 at Vibra Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. Born on September 29, 1942, he was the son of the late Arthur John Barnes, Sr. and Elizabeth Dettmer. He is predeceased by his son, David Wayne Barnes. Mr. Barnes was a member of Faith Baptist Church and loved to fish with his boys. He is survived by his loving wife, Frances Noreese Barnes; daughter, Michele E. Barnes; grandsons, Cameron David Stell and Morgan John Stell; brother Alex "Pete" Barnes; sister, Betty B. Childs and husband, Wayne; niece, Mindy Caison; nephew, John I. Wicks and wife, Carol; and great-niece Jordan Caison. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on June 25, 2014 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, with Pastor Gene Balance officiating. The family will receive friends at 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. prior to the service.
