Arthur Davis Beasley Sr., 89 of Chester, passed away Monday, October 13, 2014 at Southside Regional Medical Center. He was born May 30, 1925 to the late Walter Thomas and Lillian Mann Beasley and was preceded in death by his brothers, Lawrence J., Garland C, Waverly F. William E., Walter T. and Lloyd J. Beasley; and a sister, Mildred Jennings. He was a WWII United States Navy Veteran serving from 1942-1945 on the USS James O'Hara, a retired Maintenance Supervisor after 35 years from Allied Signal. He was a member of Ivey Memorial United Methodist Church, the Colonial Heights Optimist Club, the American Legion Post #284, the V.F.W. Post #2239, the Petersburg District Bowling Association, where he was the former Secretary-Treasurer and a member of the Hall of Fame, the Virginia State Bowling Association Hall of Fame, where he was a life member and past President, member of the Peoples Advantage Credit Union, and for the last twenty years, he volunteered at Southside Regional Medical Center for Lisa Mason. He is survived by his wife, Grace H. Beasley; son, Arthur D. Beasley Jr. of Fort Worth, Texas; daughter, JoAnne Beasley of Chester; grandchildren, Arthur D. Beasley III (Cheryl Lynn), Debra and Adam Beasley; great-grandchildren, Zachry and Wyatt Beasley; a sister, Irene Chamberlin of Richmond; and a special nephew, Billy Beasley (Linda). A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 17, 2014 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Nathan Decker officiating. Burial will follow in Bermuda Memorial Park, Enon.
