Arthur W. "Buz" Leggett Jr.passed away Jan. 4, 2011 in Clearwater, Florida. Art was born in Buffalo, NY and moved to Richmond, VA in 1972. He was retired from DuPont where he was a supervisor. He was a past president of the Virginia Wildlife Federation, the past State Chairperson of Operation RESPECT and a Volunteer Hunter Education Instructor. As well, he was a certified firearms instructor, a lifetime member of the NRA, a member of the Attica (NY) Rod and Gun Club and a former member of the Virginia Shooting Sports Association. He was a member of Colonial Christian Church in Colonial Heights and an associate member of Central Christian Church in Clearwater, FL. He was a devoted family man, a "gentleman shooter," a helpful neighbor and he was respectful of all people. Together with his wife, Gloria, he established The Peace Chapel of Southwoods in Byron, NY and Leggett Family Ministries. His loving kindness and generosity will be greatly missed. Art is survived by his beloved wife, The Rev. Gloria J. Leggett, his daughters Wendy Leggett (Paul Walford), Pamela Leggett (Randy Cheatham), his grandson Jackson Leggett-Walford, and his step-grandchildren Emma and Jarrod Walford. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 12 at Colonial Christian Church, 295 Dunlop Farms Blvd., in Colonial Heights at 1:00 p.m. The service will be co-officiated by The Rev. Clay Boyd (Colonial Heights) and The Rev. Donna Oberkreser (Clearwater, FL). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
