Audrey (Magaw) Mitchell Miles, 84, of Colonial Heights, died Monday, August 17, 2009. She was the daughter of the late Pharoah Mitchell and Lucy Pearlie Lowery Mitchell and was preceded in death by her sister, Annie Mae Shell, a brother, Draper Mitchell and her husband, William B. Miles. Mrs. Miles retired from Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company after 41 years of service. She was a 50-year member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Colonial Heights, where she worked in the nursery for many years, a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary; also a volunteer at the Dunlop House. She was a lover of flowers and animals. Survivors include two daughters, Linda D. Miles of Colonial Heights, and Becky A Miles of Colonial Heights; two sons, Don K. Miles of Idaho, and Karl A. Miles Sr. of Colonial Heights; a special nephew like a son, Sandy Colbert of Colonial Heights; two sisters, Pearlie Cole of Petersburg, and Bessie Moring of Colonial Heights; fourteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, August 20, 2009 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, with the Reverend David Prather officiating. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday (tonight) August 19, 2009 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
