Barbara Browder

Barbara E. Browder, 85, of DeWitt, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at the Colonial Heights Health Care Center. Born in Chesterfield County, she was the daughter of the late Willie G. and Mavis Griggs Ellington. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie T. Browder Jr., a daughter, Sherri L. Browder, a sister, Margaret E. Humphries; and a son in-law Fred Meade. Mrs. Browder was a member of the Dinwiddie Baptist Church. She is survived by her three daughters, Nancy A. Meade of Disputanta, Linda B. Slayden (Ivan), of Dinwiddie, and Joyce B. Cook (Chip) of Hopewell;' five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2013 in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, with Mrs. Kitty Hoyle officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2013 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
