Barbara Ann Martin Crummett went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 10, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents, Randolph Colter Martin and Dorothy May Martin; husband, James Wesley Crummett; sister, Joyce Martin O’Berry (Edward). She is survived by sons, Karl Martin Crummett and David Wesley Crummett (Angela); grandchildren, David Wesley, Corey, and Amy; great grandchildren, Autumn and Amaris; nephew, Randy Long (Barbara); niece, Kelly McCrone; and many other dear cousins, nephews and nieces.
Barbara was born in Richmond Va. After graduation from Thomas Jefferson High School, she began studies at Richmond Professional Institute, Richmond, VA, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. She also played violin in the Symphonic Orchestras of Richmond and Roanoke. Barbara met another musician by the name of Jim Crummett. After marrying, they began raising a family. After their sons were grown, she entered Civil Service, and was employed by the Department of the Army at Fort Lee, VA, serving as a Visual Information Specialist for 10 years. She was a member of The Heights Baptist Church where she enjoyed sharing her musical gift, playing violin in the orchestra there for over 20 years.
Barbara dearly loved her precious Lord, her family, friends, and Country. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, creativity, inspiration, and love.
A funeral service will be held 11:00am Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, 2033 Boulevard, where a visitation will be held one hour prior.
