Barbara Gilbert

Barbara Thacker Gilbert, 82, of Hopewell, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at the Dunlop House. She was born August 4, 1932 to the late Charles I. Thacker Sr. and Arlene Callahan Thacker. She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles I. Thacker Jr. Mrs. Gilbert was a member of Carson United Methodist Church. She is survived by her loving husband, William L. Gilbert; a son, Larry Keith Gilbert and wife, Jacqueline; a daughter, Brenda Faye Moser and husband, John; a grandson, Michael Moser and wife, Jessica; two granddaughters, Lisa Greeson and husband, Richard and Laura Gilbert; a great-grandson, Ryker Moser and a great-granddaughter, Katelyn Greeson; a sister, Janet Houston; a brother, Norman Thacker; numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 13, 2014 at Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23805 with Pastor Scott Tischler officiating. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, October 12, 2014 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
