Barbara McFarland Nugent

Barbara Joyce McFarland Nugent, 91, of South Chesterfield, Virginia passed away Thursday, December 5, 2024. Born July 2, 1933, she was the daughter of the late John William McFarland and Cauline Belcher McFarland. She is also preceded in death by her son, Dennis Gilbert Nugent, Jr. Barbara was an active member of the Wesley United Methodist Church and the Ettrick Garden Club, where she shared her love for her faith and passion for gardening. She also dedicated many years of service as a secretary at Fort Lee, where she retired. She is survived by her husband, Dennis Gilbert Nugent, Sr.; son, Wendell Grey Nugent; nephew, Kenneth Mundy; and niece, Susan M. Martin.  A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Wesley United Methodist Church 3701 Conduit Road Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. Interment will be Private. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834.
