Barbara Phillingame

Barbara Stanley Phillingame, 78, of Hopewell, passed away on Monday, August 23, 2010 at River View on the Appomattox. Born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late John G. and Juanita Reed Stanley, and the widow of William B. Phillingame. She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Ashton Somarvia, a sister, Alberta Moore. She was a member of Monumental Baptist Church, Petersburg, and a retired Cafeteria Aide for Colonial Heights Schools. Mrs. Phillingame is survived by three sons, John W. Phillingame of Colonial Heights, Robert W. Phillingame and wife, Deborah of Dinwiddie, and Richard Phillingame and wife, Denise of Hopewell along with eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and one nephew, James R. Moore. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday August 27, 2010 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Barry Ginn officiating. Interment to follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
