Barbara Wilson

Barbara Ryder Wilson, 88, of Petersburg, passed Saturday May 16, 2015 at the Colonial Heights Health Care Center. She was born in North Carolina on January 16, 1927 to the late Frank and Lucy Alston Ryder. Mrs. Wilson was a member of Monumental Baptist Church in Petersburg. She loved tending to her garden, cooking and reading. Mrs. Wilson is survived by her husband, Robert E. Wilson; son Charles R. Wilson and wife Pam; grandson, Charles C. Wilson and wife Donna; granddaughter Megan W. Demeline and husband Mike; great-grandchildren, Cayla Wilson, Christopher Wilson, Colton Gunn, Greyson Demeline; brother, Frank Ryder; sister, Anne Ruth Watson; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved cats, Chase and Lady. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday May 19, 2015 in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, Virginia, with the Reverend Barry Ginn officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday May 18, 2015 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at the Petersburg Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road.
