Barbara Sheffield

Barbara Tolker Sheffield, 79, of Colonial Heights passed away on Monday, May 24, 2021. Born on January 8, 1942 she was the daughter of the late Joseph H. and Sarah White Tolker and was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd V. Sheffield Jr. and sister, Jane L. Tolker.  Barbara was a member of the Colonial Heights Church of the Nazarene. She was the former proprietor of the Good News Books and Crafts store in Highland Springs, and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at American Legion Post #2 in Petersburg. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Vickie Corley (Eddie); sons, Wilbur E. (Wes) Sheffield (Kendahl) and Brad A. Sheffield (Brandie); adopted daughter, Tammy Gaul (Jeff); grandchildren; Kristen, Caitlin, Jake and Erin, great grandchildren; Benjin and Luna; sister-in-law, Jean Harrison; her beloved aunt, Ollie Wyman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at the Colonial Heights Church of the Nazarene, 601 E. Ellerslie Avenue, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12 noon to 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Colonial Heights Church of the Nazarene, Building Fund.
