Barbara Wilson Whelan, 84 of Colonial Heights, passed away on Friday, December 25, 2020. at her home. Mrs. Whelan was a longtime member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Colonial Heights. She was a retired Real Estate Agent for Haris and Associates in Chester and a retired machine operator for DuPont Spruance plant in Richmond, VA. She was born in Virginia to the late: Eugene Crow and Louise Motley Wilson and was preceded in death by her two sons; Harry Irving Whelan, III, James Rodney Whelan and her husband, Harry Irving Whelan.
Mrs. Whelan is survived by her two sons: Kevin Whelan (Julie Dietz) and Paul Whelan. Six grandchildren; Jayme Whelan, Jacob Whelan, Irving Whelan IV, Beau Whelan II, Carly Whelan, and Adam Whelan. One brother; Eugene Allen Wilson (Betty). A niece, Karen Hammond and a nephew, Chris Wilson. A special thanks to a devoted caregiver, Nancy Droddy.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Ann Catholic Church, 17111 Jefferson Davis Highway, VA. 23834 on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at 11:00am with Fr. Danny Cogut as Celebrant with Interment to follow in Sunset Memorial Park, 2901 W. Hundred Road, Chester, VA. 23831 The family will receive friends one hour prior to mass from 10-11:00am at the Church. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 870 Greenbrier Circle #404, Chesapeake, VA. 23320
