Benjamin Hansen Albin, 68, of Colonial Heights, passed away on May 4, 2010 at Riverview on the Appomattox. He was the son of the late Ben and Beula Kathrine Hansen Albin. He was a United States Army veteran during the Vietnam Era. Mr. Albin is survived by his wife, Marlene Albin; a son, Jack Bowling and wife, Teresa of Flatwoods, Kentucky; two daughters, Cam Gumpman and husband, Glenn of Lynchburg, and Johnna Dillow and husband, Bob of Chesapeake; seven grandchildren, Christopher and Micah Bowling, Catherine and Bonnie Gumpman, Sarah Combs, Beth Otto and Jacob Dillow; a cousin, Fay Merritt. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, May 8, 2010 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with Deacon Josh Cummings officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
