Benny Mason

Benny Mason, 79, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Southside Regional Medical Center. Born on June 27, 1936, he was the son of the late Curtis Rucker and Hilda Jackson Mason. Mr. Mason was a United States Army Veteran and a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church in Colonial Heights, where he was a Deacon, member of the Choir and served on many committees. He retired after 39 years of service from Allied Chemical-Honeywell. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Rose Ella Mason; son, Mike and wife, Michelle; daughter, Lisa Williams; three grandchildren, Heather Williams, Curtis and Rachel Mason; a brother, Bobby Mason and wife, Nettie; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 25, 2015 in Woodlawn Baptist Church, 3120 Woodlawn Ave, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834, with the Reverend Terri Mason officiating. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, Virginia. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 24, 2015 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Woodlawn Baptist Church.
