Bernice M. Golden

Bernice Morris Golden, a cherished member of her family, passed away peacefully at home on April 27, 2024, at the age of 97. Born in Petersburg, VA, on March 14, 1927, Bernice lived a life marked by kindness, resilience, and a deep love for her family and friends.

Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, her brothers and their wives, Gilbert and Mildred Maxine Morris, Eugene and Virginia Morris, sister Pearl and her husband Eddie Pittman, as well as her parents, Eugene Sr. and Ona Freeman Morris. 

Her memory will be forever cherished by her great nieces, nephews, close family, beloved pets, and the many lives she touched with her kindness. Bernice was in residence with her niece, Debra Morris Goddard, and her family since 2013 and was an integral part of their daily life. 

A graveside service will be held to honor her life and legacy, 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23805, with Rev. David Prather. Bernice's spirit and legacy will continue to live on through the countless stories and memories shared by those who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
