Bernie Houchins

Bernie Houchins, 62, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Southside Regional Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy J. Houchins and his father, Bernard Roger Houchins Sr. Mr. Houchins was a veteran in the United States Army Reserve. He is survived by two sons, Jason Houchins and wife Susan of Jacksonville, North Carolina, and Joshua Houchins and wife, Erin of Wilson, North Carolina; three grandchildren, Megan, Sarah, and Brayden Houchins; and his mother, Esther M. Houchins. A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday March 13, 2010 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with Deacon Edward Hanzlik and Pastor Rodney Walls officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends following the service.
