Beryl I.. "Nanny" Cox, 89, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Southside Regional Medical Center. Born in South Wales, she was the daughter of the late William S. and Lillian Yendall Jones, and the widow of Thomas Earl Cox. She was preceded in death by a sister, Maureen Kiley and a brother, Gordon Jones. Mrs. Cox was a member of T.B.P.A. with many of her lifelong friends. She is survived by four daughters, Lorraine Heather Griffith and husband, Eppa of Colonial Heights, Lesley Ann Ritenour and husband, Lynn of Richmond, Lynn Cox Watkins of Colonial Heights, and Laura C. Logan and husband, Tom of Colonial Heights; adopted son, Glenn Phillips of Sanford, North Carolina; 6 grandchildren, Heather and Marshall Earl and wife Erin, Jessica and husband Wayne, Amanda and husband Max, Ryan and Sid; grand furs, Mollie and Maxx, great-grandchildren, Colby, Lillie, Emma, Avery and Jaxson; a sister, Mary Jones of South Wales, Great Britain; a God child, Susan Bird; numerous nieces and nephews living in the United States and Great Britain. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Mike Lamphire and Pastor Derrick Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Dale Memorial Park, Chesterfield.
