Bessie Floyd

Bessie Abernathy Floyd, 91, of Matoaca, passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at the Colonial Heights Health Care. Born in Ettrick, she was the daughter of the late Frank J. and May Kinker Abernathy. She was a member of Ettrick United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, James Thomas Floyd; a nephew, Brian Barnes a niece, Mary Barnes; and numerous friends. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, December 10, 2012 at Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, Virginia with the Reverend Bob Lamb officiating. The visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
