Bettie Melvin

Bettie Love Keys Melvin, of Colonial Heights, VA, joined her Heavenly Father on Saturday, January 22, 2022. Born December 4, 1936 in Petersburg, VA, she was the daughter of the late Emma Knott and Benjamin N. Keys, Sr., and was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Frank Hewette Melvin, Jr.

She is survived by her twin sons, Barry Melvin and wife, Linda of Chester, VA and Larry Melvin and wife, Debbie of Colonial Heights, VA; grandchildren, Tracey Melvin-Devers, Whitney Robbins (Bob), Kevin Melvin (Bridgette), April Griffin (Sam), Claire Johnson (Ryan); great-grandchildren, Daniel Melvin, Lexi Devers, Bayleigh Robbins, Cole Robbins, Selah Griffin, Jace Griffin, Riley Griffin, Landry Johnson, Leighton Johnson, Lennon Johnson; sister, Joyce Case of S. Prince George, VA; and nephew, Mark Talbott (Pat).

She was a lifelong member of The Heights Baptist Church , where memorial contributions may be made in her memory, 17201 Jefferson Davis Hwy, South Chesterfield, VA 23834.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Karen Titmus, Elizabeth (Lisa) Steele, Gene Clare, Andie Morrow, and Sherry Woessner for their loving care of Mrs. Melvin.
