Betty Abbott

Betty Ratcliffe Abbott of Colonial Heights passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, Miles Spence Abbott, Jr. and her daughter, Kelly Marie Spence Abbott. She is survived by her daughter S. Elisabeth M. Abbott; granddaughter, Catherine A. B. Abbott; cousins, Mary Ellen and Billy Smith; and other loving family and friends. She was a member of the DAR. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 1, 2018 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Burial will follow in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In liue of fowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Petersburg/Colonial Heights SPCA, 201 Temple Avenue, Suite E, Colonial Heights, VA 23834 or the Virginia Historical Society, 425 North Boulevard, Richmond, VA 23220.
