Betty Jean Thompson Horner, 62, of Colonial Heights, VA passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Southside Regional Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Richard Thornton Thompson; and was also preceded in death by one son, Richard Thompson Horner; two brothers, Johnny and Jimmy Thompson; and a sister, Nancy Cordani. Mrs. Horner formerly worked in school cafeterias in the area, had been a Den Mother for Cub Scout Pack 160 and was a great lover of animals. She is survived by her loving husband, Marion Raymond Horner, Jr.; one daughter, Tammy Lively and husband, Jeremy of Prince George; a son, John Horner of Colonial Heights; two sisters, Peggy Cook and husband, Danny and Christine Thompson; one brother, Duck Thompson and wife, Jerri; five grandchildren, Jacob and Andrew Lively, Madison, McKenzie and Ethel Horner; and a sister-in-law, Leslie Horner Kendall and husband, Bob of Wilson, NC. All services will be private. The family is being served by the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA 23834.
