Betty J. Keeton

February 8, 1944 — April 17, 2025

Church Road

Betty J. Keeton, 81, of Church Road, Virginia, was called home to God on Thursday, April 17, 2025. Born in North Carolina on February 8, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Jane Johnson. She lived in Hopewell until 1986, and then moved to Church Road Dinwiddie County.

Betty retired from Fort Lee in Prince George County after serving 25 years in civil service as a dedicated clerical worker. She was a longtime faithful member of Community Christian Fellowship in Colonial Heights. Betty had a deep love for animals, especially her beloved dogs, Toby and Sophie, and held a special place in her heart for horses. She found peace and joy in the mountains, often traveling there whenever she had the chance. Her green thumb was evident in her beautiful flower garden, which she enjoyed tending to with great care. Betty cherished the quiet comforts of home and the simple pleasures of life, always finding contentment in the little things.

She is survived by her daughters, Tammy Grant and Dawn Garrett and husband, Maury; grandchildren, Amanda Conner and husband, Nathan, Jordan Walters and husband, Tyler, and Cole Garrett; great-grandchildren, Sylvia Conner and Tatum Walters; and other extended family members.

A mausoleum service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, April 25, 2025, in Bermuda Memorial Park, 1901 Bermuda Hundred Road, Chester, Virginia 23836. Arrangements are by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834.
