Betty Owen Holden, - A.K.A.-“Betty Jane”, beloved mother, sister and friend of many dies at age 62. Her life was cut short due to an unexpected accident while on vacation with close friends at Wrightsville Beach, NC on July 2nd, 2019. Betty is survived by her daughters: Jennifer Gayle Holden and Mamie McNeil Holden, her brother: William Cline Owen, Jr. -A.K.A-“Billy” as well as other siblings: Louise Wilson, and Jean Faye Crowder. Betty is preceded in death by her parents: Mary Magdalene Wall (Andrews) Owen, and William Cline Owen, Sr. -A,K.A- “Bill” of Ettrick, VA as well as Leslie M. Andrews, Jr. -A.K.A- “Bubba”.
Betty was born on December 17th, 1956 in Petersburg, VA. She attended Matoaca High School, Class of ’75. A Chesterfield County resident most of her life, was a Director of Operations and Client Services at Actuarial Benefits, & Design, Co for 28-years. She will be greatly missed for her love, dedication and service to all she knew. Betty touched the lives of many because of her great sense of humor and positive attitude. Betty’s family, friends and associates will be received Friday, July 12th from 6 to 8 p.m. at E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA 23834. A graveside interment service will be Saturday, July 13th at 10 a.m. at Blandford Cemetery, 319 Crater Rd, Petersburg, VA 23803 near the grave of Betty’s mother Mary, Northeast of the intersection of St. Joseph Ave. with Southwood Ave.
