Betty Johnson Perdue, 84, of South Chesterfield, passed away Monday, November 16, 2015 at her residence. She was born September 18, 1931 to the late John Ralph and Mary Irene Fisher Johnson and was preceded in death by a brother William Ford. Betty was a member of the former High Street United Methodist Church for a number of years where she was active in teaching children. After marriage in 1956 she worked for Titmus Optical, but left to raise her five children in 1957. She is survived by her loving husband, of 59 years, J. Albert Perdue, two sons; James Mark Perdue and wife Katey, John Bradley Perdue and wife Gwen, three daughters, Nancy Katherine Perdue, Leslie Lynn Perdue, Susan Abigail Venton and husband Brad, six grandchildren, Lindsay Venton, Sarah Perdue, Liza Perdue, Michael Perdue, McKenzie Perdue, Scott Perdue, one great-granddaughter Lily May Farrow and a sister in-law Kay Ford. A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 20, 2015 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Mary Dadisman officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Chester, Virginia.
