Beverly Anne Shauger

It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Beverly Anne Shauger, passionately known as “Nanny”, who departed this life to enter into the joy of the Lord on February 12, 2025, at the age of 87. She was a devout member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Colonial Heights, VA and was very active in many different ministries. Beverly was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, and friend, whose kindness and beautiful smile touched the lives of all who were blessed to know her. 

Beverly was born on November 29, 1937, in New Jersey, and was known for her love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a prayer warrior. If you needed prayers, she was the one everyone called. She passionately loved her family and is remembered for her compassion and care, especially for children. She loved to work with the children at Mount Pleasant especially during Vacation Bible School. She served faithfully in the Operation Christmas Child program, packing many boxes at the Church and in Charlotte, NC. Beverly had a heart for missions and for those that do not know Jesus. She participated in many mission trips throughout the world to ensure as many people as possible heard the good news of Jesus. 

She was preceded in death by her mother, Nona Eleanor Lee; father, Charles Decker; husband, Charles A. Shauger; daughter, Linda Shauger; sons, Craig Shauger, Keith Shauger, and Paul Shauger; granddaughter, Amanda L. Shauger. 

Beverly is Survived by sons, Steven A. Shauger (Cindy), James A. Shauger; daughter, Jennifer A. Lail (Jeff); brother, Charles Decker (Marcie); sister, Nona Moran. Beverly had numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren that she loved dearly and brought her much joy. 

A celebration of Beverly’s life will be held on Monday, February 17, 2025, visitation from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 3110 Greenwood Avenue, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. Service will follow at 3:00 pm in at the Church. A private burial service will be at Spring Hill Cemetery in Lynchburg, Va. on Tuesday, February 18th, 2025. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Huntingtons Disease Society of America. Service are being handled by the Colonial heights Chapter of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes.
