Billie Edwards Nichols, 72, of Colonial Heights, died on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at Southside Regional Medical Center. She was born in Rockingham, N.C. and was the daughter of the late William T. and Margaret M. Martin Edwards. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Colonial Heights and was a public school teacher, professor at Richard Bland College and retired as an administrator at John Tyler Community College. Mrs. Nichols is survived by her husband, Thomas C. Nichols; one daughter, Sonia L. Nichols of Chester and a son, Thomas W. Nichols and wife; Tiffany W. of Colonial Heights; two grandchildren, Taven W. and Taylor W. Nichols of Colonial Heights. A funeral service will be Friday, July 30, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Rev. Deborah Fair and the Rev. Thomas R. Dunkum officiating. Entombment in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George County, Virginia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Glen Allen Office, 4240 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, Va. 23060 or Wesley United Methodist Church, 3701 Conduit Road, Colonial Heights, Va. 23834.
