Billy Ellis

Billy R. Ellis, 65, of Hopewell, passed away on Monday, March 5, 2012 at John Randolph Medical Center. Born in Kentucky, he was the son of the late Emory W. and Jessie Beverly Ellis. Mr. Ellis was a United States Navy veteran, and retired from the Honeywell Hopewell Plant as a pipefitter/welder. He was a member of the Hopewell American Legion Post #146, and VFW Post #637. He is survived by his wife, Donna J. Ellis; a son, Billy R. Ellis Jr. of Sanford, Florida; a daughter, Cheyenne Jessica Ellis of Hopewell; a brother, Larry Ellis and wife, Gwen of Hopewell; and several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of His Life will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2012 at the VFW, 335 S. 15th Avenue, Hopewell, Virginia 23860. Arrangements by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the West End Christian School, 1600 Atlantic Street, Hopewell, Virginia 23860.
